2018 Reflection: The Year of Impact & Action
Its official, folks: cause marketing had itself a YEAR. Starting with Larry Fink’s letter to CEOs, the corporate sector made great strides in reforming its social responsibility efforts from a greenwashing mess to a promising driver of measured impact.
The recent change in investor and consumer demands drove companies and influencers from all industries to take bold, even political stands on leading social and environmental issues. As a result, an influx of cause marketing campaigns caught national attention with new Social Advocacy (i.e. efforts to change perceptions) messages and record-breaking Digital Engagement (i.e. use tech for a cause support). This year’s commitment to corporate purpose also lead to an increase in strategic cross-sector partnerships and employee engagement, diversity and inclusion.
Despite the impressive cause marketing advancements of 2018, we are of the [entirely unbiased] opinion that this year’s greatest achievements were had by our own RightCause community. We are consistently humbled by this network of purpose-driven companies, nonprofits and individuals working tirelessly to strengthen neighborhoods and better businesses. But most importantly, we extend our sincerest gratitude to the clients, partners and supporters that brought life to the RightCause mission. Through our first year of business, you offered the unwavering trust, kinship and guidance vital to entrepreneurial success. For that, we simply cannot thank you enough.
Best wishes to you and yours for a Happy Holiday season and all things GOOD in the New Year. Cheers!
